Real Business Cycle model: Effect of adverse supply side shock on output, employment and real wage?
Q. I know that it depends on the elasticity of the supply curve for labour, and that there will be an adverse effect on output and employment, but im not sure about real wage. Im looking at diagrams of postive technological shocks but I cant figure it out. Any ideas how I can answer this concisely? Or if you know of any good diagrams illustrating this that would be great.
Asked by dannycraig1 - Sun May 4 14:26:16 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Yeah, you are right regarding employment and real output - they both will fall. I'm quite sure that real wages should fall too because of equilibrium in labor market. there could be arguments regarding "sticky wages" - which will keep wages frozen, but opposite effect will be due to increase in price level. So I would say change in real wages are really unidentified. All depends on elasticities and size of shifts in AD, AS, labor supply and labor demand - you can't give right answer without empirical data.

Can strep throat and antibiotics have an adverse effect on the baby I am carrying?
Q. My wonderful contaminated sister gave me strep throat. I know she did not mean to, but I have not long left the doctor. He put me on penicillin. He refused to give me a stronger pain med, I can only take tylenol every four hours. My hubby is sick now too. Our son (bless his heart) tied a scarf around his face and packed an overnight back, and has gone to his granny's house, I cannot say I blame him. I called my OB and he said that it is important that I take all of the antibiotics and try to eat applesauce and jello for the next couple of days. He said that USUALLY there is no adverse reactions. I am still VERY concerned. What can you tell me about strep and the effects on the unborn child? Plus the doctor gave my husband the good stuff,… [cont.]
Asked by 2fine4u - Wed Jul 11 19:42:47 2007 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Please make sure that you OB/GYN gives you a LEVEL 2 ultra sound. Strep throat at the wrong time of development can harm the baby's heart. I am not saying this to scare you, but if there is a problem, it can be fixed in-utero (in the womb) or they will have surgery staff on alert at delivery. If you are prepared, your baby has the chance to live a happy normal life. If nothing else, having the higher level of U/S will give you piece of mind when it shows every thing is okay. Don't let your doctor talk you out of the level 2 U/S - because of the strep risk, your insurance should pay for it.

Does continuous treatment of Hypercholesterolemia with statins create any adverse effect on liver?
Q. I have been taking statins for the last 11 months for hypercholestrolemia. Will it create any adverse effect on the functions of my liver. Since I am also on treatment with anti anxiety and anti depressant drugs, my trigylceride levels are not lowering so doctor advised to take statins 10 mg per day continuosly.I do not have any liver disease.
Asked by Jack - Fri Dec 15 03:19:19 2006 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. # Changes in liver function occur in a small fraction of people; your doctor will probably monitor blood tests to check that your liver continues to function well. If the liver function becomes too abnormal, your doctor will stop the drug. The liver is expected to return to normal function.

A. Yes, there is. It is because speaking in gay lingo can affect your grammar in english. You may commit a grammatical error because the words in gay lingo are very much different from the terms we use in speaking the english language.

What is the adverse effect of a dislocated arm without proper treatment?
Q. I simply relocated it back to place, no sling, no medicine , no visits to the doc. Now, it feels sore at times. But is that the end? How serious could things turn out or?
Asked by april2 - Sat Jan 26 13:56:22 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. simple tissues holding ur arm are torn and need time to heal...resting arm is important for this reason... if u dont give rest for at least 3 wks tissues are damaged and even the simplest force would dislocate it again... meaning dislocations all the time which would need operations to correct it... Prereduction and postreduction radiographs are recommended...there maybe fractures in area ... also any numbness/ inability to move fingers raise arm sideways implies nerve injury... if u are in sports sometimes docs even do operations but i think u are not a sportsperson... Approximately 90% of patients younger than 20 years at the time of the initial dislocation have a recurrence; see source to know more its in end of page...

Can the Federal Reserves decision to buy $700 billion in toxic "assets" have an adverse effect?
Q. Can the Federal Reserves decision to buy $700 billion in toxic "assets" have an adverse effect? today they decided to monetize 300 billion by buying bonds directly and also buy $700 billion of bad assets from banks - Is this a "die another day" strategy or is it going to put the economy on a much more sound footing
Asked by rooster - Wed Mar 18 16:52:55 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. The purpose of this buying by the Fed is to lower the interest rates for various commercial loans in the economy. Because all this buying will raise prices for government and commercial bonds. Which will automatically lower the interest rates paid on them. The danger is that some investors might see this buying by the Fed as their chance to get out of increasingly risky US securities. And if too many big investors such as the Central Bank of China and others start dumping their US securities for the Fed to buy. Then the supply might overwhelm the demand. Which will cause an increase in the interest rates rather than a decrease as the Fed intends.

A. I read around alot, and some women actually have to be on it during the whole pregnancy, or can actually lose the babies. No matter how far along they are.. One of our clients at my job also had IVF, and progesterone during her pregnancy. Her twins are now 6 months, and adorable. Doctors know more than any of us. Plus.. if this was putting your babies at risk, and they never informend you, this is the biggest lawsuit ever. So.. the doctor would of told you about it a long time ago. good luck :)

What adverse effect will lortab have on someone w/ a history of brain tumors?
Q. i recently had some dental work and they gave me lortab to help w/ the pain...well as i was doing some research on it a few mins ago, i found that you should ask your doc before you take it if you've had a brain tumor. well no one asked about me about this, and i have had a brain tumor. i never imagined this being an issue, what should i watch out for?
Asked by cheesey :) - Thu Jul 17 00:24:04 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Lortab is a combination of Hydrocodone Bitartrate / Acetaminophen. Acetaminophen is the same as Tylenol which makes the Hydrocodone work better. I also saw the warning about brain tumors. When I had surgery for my brain tumor I was given morphine in the hospital for pain. When I was discharged from the hospital they gave me Hydrocodone to use at home. You are probably fine, but just in case, call your doctor and explain that you have had a brain tumor. It should be in their records for you.

A. Actually, a lot of women are very upset with the way the same Obama attack machine that smeared Hillary, is now smearing Palin. I know several Hillary supporters who would have voted for Obama because they are life long Democrats who are so turned off by their tactics, that they are voting for McCain.

Will a sterilising agent in rain water used for watering plants have an adverse effect on the plants?
Q. The rain butts are open at the top for easy access when watering. They get colonised by insects, notably gnats, which become a nuisance around the garden. Lids and covers have not been very successful. Is there a suitable organic sterilising agent which will contol the insects without harming the plants in the garden? The water is primarily used on fruit and vegetables.

Will this have a great adverse effect on my chance for scholarships?
Q. I am a current high school senior..I have maintained very high grades throughout my years of schooling. But now, I am taking Advanced Placement Biology...and I got an 80. My other three grades are A's and B's. Considering my past grades of high A's and high B's...would this C automatically discredit my chances for scholarships even though it was received in a very rigorous course?

A. You're in the same situation as I am. I just got a C too, my first one. As far as everyone is telling me, no it won't affect scholarship chances. The AP matters, and selection committees will look at that. The only thing you need to do is score high on the ACT or SAT. Don't worry, you will be fine. Good luck with everything!

A. Don- they are alreay here, working and paying (at least some) taxes. So your post would be a very poor argument. Which way is con? Against amnesty or against adverse effects? I think the danger of giving amnesty is that it would promote ever more illegals to come, that would have some adverse effects, lower wages, etc (all the arguments against wide open borders). If you could provide a one time way to make current illegals legal w/o causing an increase in immigration, you would probably boost wage levels (illegals would be better positioned to get proper wages once legal), and with better wages, they would pay more taxes. It might mean less crime as well, as being able to legally find work might get more working proper jobs, raising… [cont.]
